Dr Laura Mercer was born and raised in Arizona, earning her bachelor's degrees from Northern Arizona University and her medical degree from the University of Arizona. She completed her speciality training in obstetrics and gynecology at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix (formerly known as Banner Good Samaritan). She is actively involved in the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), where she serves as a member of the Patient Education Editorial Board and the Junior Fellow Chair of ACOG's District VIII.
Dr Mercer's interests include contraception, adolescent health, minimally invasive surgery and medical student and resident education. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling to explore new places and cultures, eating, playing volleyball and board games and spending time with her family and three labrador retrievers.
